Automated Trading’s Hidden Agenda

Save time for strange days with Automated Trading.

Save time for strange days with Automated Trading.

Dan Brown has made a fortune exploring the hidden agendas of church and state in his books The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.

Oliver Stone’s been portrayed as one of those hidden agenda-seekers, acknowledging the roles of the FBI, the CIA, the Mob, anti-Castro Cubans, pro-Castro Cubans, and participants in the military-industrial complex in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He also insinuated that a half-naked native had a role in writing songs for sixties rock band, the Doors, even though it was more than likely Robby Krieger.

As part of the development team charged with creating Automated Trading systems, I am now in possession of information that reveals the hidden–and shocking–agenda of Automated Trading.

It’s time.

After reading a few articles and posts about how long most traders work on the simplest trade–analyzing, referencing, studying, and activating–I now believe that the key benefit to Automated Trading is that it saves so much time.

Time is the ultimate currency.

Forget the potential for high returns and the simplicity of Automated Trading. Using technology to return more time to your life seems to be the hidden benefit of Automated Trading.

In truth, though, there’s probably another hidden-hidden agenda that I should acknowledge. Traders may spend so much time reading charts and watching the market because they like it. They enjoy it.

And to each, his or her own.

But, as we begin rolling systems out, we hope that it won’t take a semi-nude American Indian or a rogue group of  CIA agents to convince people that restoring some time back to their lives might be a good thing.
