Deutsche Bank Closes Leveraged ETF

According to Don Dion, writing at the Street.com, Deutsche Bank will close its PowerShares DB Crude Oil Double Long Exchange Traded Note in the face of increased regulation.

Leveraged funds, including ETFs,  are often blamed for increased speculation in the energy market, including the oil market. The Deutsche Bank ETF is dead-center in the target because it’s leveraged and because it’s based on futures.

Leveraged ETFs are risky, but investors are speaking out that this regulation is ill-placed.
