What does it mean to you?
Of course, there’s monetary wealth. But there’s other things you can be rich in. Good health. Friendship. Love. You name it.
In this edition of Weekly Wisdom, we’ll take a look at some great bits of wisdom on monetary wealth–and some of the other types of riches.
It’s been a mixed week for the economy and the market. A lot of twists and turns.
But, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my weekly readings, it’s that you hold a lot of personal financial power in your own hands.
By making smart spending, saving, and investing decisions, I think we can ride this sucker out.

Do you remember all those countdown shows on the radio every weekend? Casey Kasem? Dick Clark? Rick Dees?
Dang exponentially-increasing technology has put a dent in those shows and they’re not nearly as influential as they used to be. Once, if you had a song in Casey Kasem’s Top 40 Show, it was like placing on the first page of Google.
And “hits” had a totally different meaning.
Anyway, this edition of Weekly Wisdom is my own countdown show of the web’s hottest personal financial hits this week.
Investing is looked at as part science, part art, and part voodoo.
It comes with a set of rules that can’t be broken–until they must be broken. How do you know when to adhere to rules and when to seek new methods of making money? That’s the million-dollar question.
Then there are so many styles of investing. Which one suits you: Long-term, short-term, day trader, trend, swing, etc. etc.?

Lots of great reading in the Personal Finance category last week.
One thing I noticed is just how much information is out there that can direct you on the path to wealth. Tips for the wealthy-to-be were everywhere. Whether it’s saving tips, or even insights into the suburban millionaire’s mind, the posts and articles covered it all.

Answers don’t matter.
That seems to be heresy. But hear me out.
The fact is, unless you know the right questions to ask, answers don’t really help you. Knowing what’s wrong and then applying the right solution is the key to problem solving.

The Art of Learning is the fascinating story of Josh Waitzkin, the world champion in both chess and Pushing Hands. His style is mesmerizing, and the strategies for learning are priceless.
The Alchemist is one of the best-selling and most inspirational books of all time. Anyone who has ever had a dream in life needs to read it. Perhaps my favorite book of all time.
