July 25th, 2010

Summer is heading into the home stretch.

We’re going to keep the temperatures high here, though. Here are some great links on personal finance and self-improvement.

One of the struggles most investors face is taming their emotions. Free From Broke offers dollar cost averaging as one remedy to emotional investing.

Simple Trading System caught this: BP is selling assets to Apache.

It’s kind of like a McMansion for a hobbit. Man finds contentment in an 89 square foot house, courtesy of Faithful with a Few.

This could be a demographic time bomb. Finance Samurai points out that there are now more senior workers than teen workers.

Weekly Wisdom: The Top 10 Personal Financial Countdown!

June 27th, 2010

Uberto @ Flickr

Do you remember all those countdown shows on the radio every weekend? Casey Kasem? Dick Clark? Rick Dees?

Dang exponentially-increasing technology has put a dent in those shows and they’re not nearly as influential as they used to be. Once, if you had a song in Casey Kasem’s Top 40 Show, it was like placing on the first page of Google.

And “hits” had a totally different meaning.

Anyway, this edition of Weekly Wisdom is my own countdown show of the web’s hottest personal financial hits this week.

Lots of great reading in the Personal Finance category last week.

One thing I noticed is just how much information is out there that can direct you on the path to wealth. Tips for the wealthy-to-be were everywhere. Whether it’s saving tips, or even insights into the suburban millionaire’s mind, the posts and articles covered it all.

I collected the following tips:

What are you willing to do to become wealthy. Fickle Finance has a link to a video and a list of the things the wealthy do to get rich. Also check out the 25 entrepreneurship tips from rappers.

Personal Dividends passes on a monthly financial checklist for June.

What’s another $200 billion? That’s the amount Bible Money Matters says the Obama administration is proposing to pass in another round of stimulus. I’m sure it will help someone–a lobbying firm, construction firm–become wealthy.
